Solo Accordion
The accordion has been my companion throughout nearly all of my musical life, and our ways have never fully parted since we met. My growth with the instrument has been fully interlocked with my personal growth, and that relationship keeps me gravitating towards the instrument. My biggest interest is seeking what I do not know and do not understand, to keep challenging myself decoding a foreign musical language, and to project my understanding of it to an audience.
I’ve brought the instrument into nearly all of my musical adventures, trekking through traditional music, jazz/fusion, baroque, punk, docile impressionism and unapologetic post-modernism.
I’ve been a long-term accordion student of Guðmundur Samúelsson (IS), prof. Geir Draugsvoll (NO) and Andreas Borregaard (DK). I’m currently studying for a Post-Graduate Soloist diploma with prof. Geir Draugsvoll.
During my studies, I’ve sought master classes and lessons with the likes of Veli Kujala and Matti Rantanen (FI), Yuri Shishkin, Friedrich Lips, and Semion Shmelkov (RU), Mie Miki (DE/JP), Bjarke Mogensen (DK), Belma Šarančić (BA), Claudio Jacomucci (IT) and Vincent Lhermet (FR).
On top of that I’m deeply indebted to auxiliary mentors and heroes like Eyþór Gunnarsson, Davíð Þór Jónsson, Róbert Þórhallsson, Óskar Guðjónsson, and my accordion classmates in the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
Currently I am working on developing concert concepts and deepening my ties with my repertoire.
